Da lian huo shao

Da lian huo shao is a traditional Mandarin dish. The preparation involves a yeast dough that is left to rise before being rolled out and filled.

Da lian huo shao can be enjoyed as it is or with a side of hot, clear soup or soy milk for a traditional Chinese breakfast experience.

Bang bang chicken

Traditional bang bang chicken is a dish of shredded chicken julienned cucumber and a spicy sauce. 

The poached chicken is often pounded with a stick (棒, bàng in chinese) which is where the name "bang bang" comes from.

Szechuan sauce

Szechuan sauce is a bold and pungent sauce that is a staple in Chinese cuisine from the Szechuan region. Szechuan sauce is known for its depth of flavor, combining sweet, sour, salty, and spicy elements to create a complex taste profile. This sauce can be used as a marinade, stir-fry sauce, or dipping sauce.

Stamppot

A traditional Dutch dish that can be described as a hearty and comforting potato mash, combined with various other ingredients.

One common feature of stamppot dishes is that they are often served with a large smoked sausage known as rookworst.

Sambal oelek

Sambal oelek is a chile paste made of pounded or chopped fresh red chiles flavored with salt, a little sugar and vinegar. It´s pure chile flavor. 

While it's easy to find jars of sambal oelek in grocery stores, you can also make this condiment at home.

Ifisashi

Ifisashi is a traditional Zambian dish made primarily with a mix of leafy green vegetables, tomatoes, peanuts, and sometimes meat. This nutritious and flavorful meal can be served as a main course or a side dish, and is often enjoyed with nshima, a maize porridge that is a staple in many African countries. The recipe below provides a vegetarian version of ifisashi, but you can easily add meat or fish if you prefer.
