Celeriac potato mash

A pleasant side dish with a mild taste of celery, it is very easy to prepare and nutritious.

Ingredients

2 potato (medium size, peeled and cut up small)
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter
1 celeriac (cut into chunks)
  seasoning (salt and ground pepper to taste)

Instructions

Boil potatoes - about 15 minutes - in water and drain. Alternatively, steam potatoes until tender - about 25 minutes.

Simmer celeriac in milk until tender, about 20-30 minutes.

Mash celeriac in the milk, which would have been very much reduced.

Mash potatoes and mix with the mashed celeriac, beating gently over very low heat. Mix in butter, season with salt and pepper and serve.

Notes

Celeriac is also known as celery root.
