breads

All sorts of bread made at the bakery that can be also made at home.

Roti done right

Roti is a delicious bread that complementes your Indian cuisine. Roti is a flat bread. It is unleavened and not baked, but cooked on a tava, or griddle, with oil. Want to make your own righteous roti? That is as easy as one, two, three. OK, maybe it will take a half-dozen or so steps. But they're all simple.

Naan bread

Naan is best served warm. It can be kept covered by a large bowl for a few minutes after baking, but avoid keeping it there too long, since this leads to excess moisture buildup and softening. If you want to make your own naan follow this one delicious recipe.

Injera, flat bread from Ethiopia

Injera bread is made from three simple ingredients: teff flour, water, and salt. If you are familiar with making crepes or pancakes, you should not have any trouble to prepare it. You can use a mixture of teff flour and whole wheat or all purpose flour. Injera is usually served with hot food on top. Wrap the injera around the food, chop it off, and eat it.

Bread

We eat bread almost every day. Have you thought about the chemistry that goes on behind the scenes to create the chewy goodness that is known as bread?

Italian breads

Best known for pasta-based dishes, there is a category of Italian food that should never be overlooked by those seeking great taste: Italian breads. Bread is an ancient food and nowhere has that fact been more evident than in this sun-drenched land.
