Grape ketchup

Grape ketchup goes well with red meats, roast pork or chicken.

Ingredients

4 pounds grape (seedless grapes, washed)
2 cups water
1 cup vinegar
3 cups sugar
3 teaspoons cinnamon (ground)
2 teaspoons clove (ground)
2 teaspoons mace (ground)
2 teaspoons salt

Instructions

  1. Place the grapes in a pot with the water, bring to a boil and cook until the grapes are cooked through and are a pulp.
  2. Run through a food mill reserving the liquid.
  3. Mix the liquid with the vinegar and boil for 5 minutes.
  4. In the meantime, mix together the remaining ingredients.
  5. Add all to the grape mix. Boil until the mixture is thick and no liquid is standing on top.

Notes

Remove seeds if using ordinary grapes.
