Five alarm salsa cruda

Hot enough to need the fire department to fight the fire. Serve with corn tortilla chips.

Ingredients

2 tomato (peeled, seeded and chopped)
2 chili pepper (stemmed, seeded and minced)
4 tablespoons onion (white or yellow onion, finley chopped)
1 teaspoon garlic (minced garlic)
2 tablespoons lime juice

Instructions

Mix chopped tomato, minced chili, onion and garlic in a bowl. Sprinkle lime juice over and toss. Chill if not served immediately.

Notes

Use 1 jalapeño and 1 habanero chili peppers.

Variations

Add some chopped coriander leaves, chopped sweet bell peppers or sweet corn to tame the fire.

For a cooked five alarm salsa use chopped canned tomato and canned green chili. Place all ingredients in a saucepan and simmer for 5 minutes.
