rose water

Name pluralrose waters

Rose water is a fragrant liquid made by distilling or infusing rose petals in water. As a cooking ingredient, it is used in small quantities to give foods a distinctive floral aroma and delicate flavour. It is particularly common in Middle Eastern, North African, South Asian and Mediterranean cuisines, where it flavours desserts, pastries, syrups, rice dishes, drinks and confectionery. Food-grade rose water should be used for cooking, as cosmetic preparations may contain ingredients unsuitable for consumption.
