Wurstsalat
Description
A portion of Bavarian sausage salad piled on an embossed white plate, shot from a high angle on a weathered grey-brown plank table. The salad is built from long ribbons of pale pink Lyoner-style sausage and matching strips of pale yellow Emmental cheese, tossed with chopped gherkin, thin rings of red onion and a generous scatter of chopped chives, all lightly slicked with a clear vinegar-and-oil dressing that pools at the edge of the plate. A sprig of flat-leaf parsley sits at the top left of the mound and another at the back of the plate.
A fanned gherkin and a slice of tomato are set at the lower left as garnish, and two thick slices of close-crumbed rye bread lean against the right rim. A green-and-white checked napkin runs under the plate, a fork lies at the top right, and a small bunch of radishes with leaves sits at the top of the frame. Soft, even daylight; cool tones in the wood against the pinks and yellows of the salad.
