Brotzeit
Description
An overhead shot of a Bavarian Brotzeit board laid out on a pale blue painted wooden table. A long, worn wooden serving board runs diagonally across the frame, loaded from left to right: whole and halved radishes with their leaves still on, overlapping triangular slices of holey Emmental-style cheese, folded slices of cured ham with a clear rim of white fat, and a row of thin, deep-red smoked sausages laid parallel like kindling.
Fanned gherkins are tucked between the sections, sprigs of curly parsley are scattered across the board, and at the lower left a thick round of paprika-orange Obatzda cheese spread is topped with rings of red onion and a parsley sprig. Two large lye pretzels sit at the right-hand end, their glossy brown crusts split to show the pale dough beneath and scattered with coarse salt.
Behind the board, softly out of focus, are three thick slices of dark rye bread and a tall glass of beer with a white head. Even, cool daylight; the blue-grey table and red radishes and sausages give the frame a strong colour contrast.
Suitable as a lead image for Brotzeit and Bavarian cold-plate features, Oktoberfest and beer-garden menu guides, Obatzda and German cheese explainers, charcuterie and sharing-board pieces, and beer-pairing or no-cook entertaining articles. Horizontal, with plain painted table along the bottom and left edges for headlines or overlaid text.
